YES...the journey may be scary in the initial stage but rewarding and worth it…100%.
It’s one thing to start a business, but trying to optimise it is an entirely different matter.
And it’s one that many entrepreneurs struggle with as their business takes off and as the business environment and consumer preferences evolve.
Optimising your business takes considerable effort. It is not only understanding taxes and compliance but you are also looking after sales and marketing.
It also involves with interacting with your customers on a daily basis.
Though it may be scary and difficult in the initial stage…
If you buckle down, clear your mind, and just look at things in perspective, you can easily identify ways you can grow your business and make more money quickly.
Here are some practical tips to help you grow your customer base.
1. Understanding your customers needs
Understand your customer’s needs is very important as it will help develop trust with your customers. We should try to develop products and services to meet those needs. A couple of ways to gain insights into your customer is to encourage customers to provide feedback. Good Customer service is the minimum that we can provide….so always go the extra mile by providing great or excellent service. People will not forget it when the receive great service and will most likely recommend friends to your business. Where possible address the customer by name as this will make them feel important and recognised.
2. Nurturing your customers
Staying in contact with your customers is important. This can be done via a newsletter and letting them know about promotional events ahead of time. Having these strategies in place will help to nurture existing customer and woking to build new ones, and there must be a balance between nurturing customers and finding new ones.
3.Social media in business
These days social media is the most powerful tool to promote your business especially through social listening. Through social listening you can find out what customers are saying about you and your business. Social media can help you to build your business profile and attract new customers.
You will gain insight into their behaviour, identify keywords and trends that appeal to your target market and so improve your customer service.
4. Attending and Hosting Events
These days in order to build your business, you will need to invest your time to network so attending social events is a good way to get to know the people whom you can connect your business with.
Networking allows you to build relationships with other people and they can refer customers to you through word of mouth.
Hosting your own event can be a great way to get to know your customers and build relationships. Invite some of your best existing customers and encourage them to bring their friends.
Building brand awareness in your local community is a great way to attract new business. Consider sponsorship or participating in a community event to raise your business profile.
5. Measure what works and refine your approach as you go
You should monitor where your customers are coming from in order to measure whether your marketing activities are successful or not.
Don’t be afraid to experiment. Refine your approach if something is not working and focus more time on the activities that achieve the best results.
