EXERCISE should be regarded as a tribute to the HEART

Physical activity should become as much a routine in our lives as eating and sleeping. Regular physical activity can improve your muscle strength and boost your endurance and also promote health.

Regardless of age, regular activity can improve your quality of life and make you feel more energetic.

Oxygen and nutrients are delivered to the tissues when we exercise, it also helps with our cardiovascular system to work more efficiently. When our heart and lung health improve, we have more energy to tackle our daily chores.

How important is exercise?
We know physical activity together with good nutrition is a key factor in maintaining mental wellbeing.

When we exercise, blood flow increases to our brain and our brain stimulates happy chemicals like endorphins and serotonin and as a result we experience reduced depression and anxiety.

Our mood improves and so is our clarity of thought and attention and our memory also improves.

With all the activity in the day, we will have better quality of sleep at the end of the day.

When we keep up regularly with exercises, we are also keeping serious illnesses like diabetes, cancer or heart disease and dementia at bay.

Exercise often brings opportunities to socialise, thus reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation.

How do I get started?
Start it slow and easy, if you have never exercise before or haven’t been exercising for a while, as it is important to allow your body to get use to the new movements.

Initially start with 30 minutes of low-intensity exercise and this can be further broken into two 15-minute segments depending on your schedule, and increase the time and intensity of your exercise as you progress.

You can also start by getting off the bus or train earlier and walking to your destination. There is  no necessity to go hard straight away and remember any additional exercise is a good thing for your wellbeing!

How to maintain motivation
Being motivated enough to make exercise a habit can be tricky. But once you do get in the habit, it will start feeling weird to not exercise.

If you find it hard to keep motivated to exercise, try inviting a friend on the walk or be active in a group fitness environment.

Working out or walking with a friend is a great idea as you can keep each other accountable.

Where possible try to exercise at the same time every day as this help to keep you own track . Do not forget to write down your achievements, no matter how small.

Another good way to exercise is to take your dog for a walk.

People always find it easier to stick with an activity when they are interested in it. Think about what exercise might suit you and your personality.

If you are a goal-oriented person and like working towards an end point…you can try rock climbing.

If you need a stress outlet after a challenging day at work, dodgeball might be for you. Or perhaps you’ve always thought about hip-hop dancing?

Now is the time to stop thinking and start doing!

It can be difficult to find time to commit to exercising everyday if you are working in a corporate environment, as by the end of the day, you feel tired and have no energy left.

You can take the same journey as I did…..

I invested in myself and started to learn a new skill and I finally left the 9-5 grind.

I now have the choice to be present with the people and the moments that I believe are important to me.

You see what typically happened is we become trapped in our greed. For me, it was years of hard work and dedication in the hospitality industry, that I did not give much time to myself for exercising and it was a wake up call for me when my cholesterol level went up due to the stressful environment where I worked in.

Like exercising, learning a new skill requires determination and  commitment and I can tell you now that is the best investment I have made.

Now I can work in the comfort of my own home and I do not have to wake up to an alarm clock, get dressed and commute through the horrendous traffic to and from work. It is so flexible on my time!

What I found, that this is where the biggest growth happens. This brings me to you……

I found a free video workshop series of shared ideas on how to break this cycle of just working and start living.

What I uncovered is a whole new life, right in front of us, we could not see it.

I started an online business from scratch with no experience, scary…YES – rewarding (worth it)..100%.
