As the saying goes….A boss has the title, a leader has the people
~ Simon Sinek ~
Leadership is the art of motivating a group of people to act towards achieving a common goal.
Leaders help shape the nation, community and organisations, and we often identify a bad leader only, but do we know how to identify a good leader is the question we should ask ourselves.
Before we do that, we need to identify the qualities of a good leader.
Self-awareness is paramount for leadership. The better you understand yourself, the more effective you can be.
As soon as leaders understand themselves and their awareness of how others view them, they can navigate the resulting interactions.
A Good Leader should possess most of these qualities if not all.
Integrity is the obvious. Integrity is essential especially if one is charting the organisation’s course and making significant decisions.
Organisations should reinforces the importance of integrity to leaders at various levels.
Effective leadership and effective communication are intertwined.
One needs to be able to communicate in a variety of ways, from transmitting information to coaching its people.
You must be able to communicate to all levels and from all walks of life and more.
Able to Delegate
It can be tricky at time to delegate effectively but it is one of the core responsibilities of a leader.
Delegating your direct reports will help build trust, facilitate teamwork as this will help to free yourself to direct the team to bigger achievements and growth.
This will enables the team to find comfort and will feel fulfilment in working towards the goal.
Whether you’re dealing with an individual or an entire team, knowing how to build and keep trust is crucial for effective leadership.
It is important to start your day with gratitude, that way you will stay positive.
Focusing on the negative leads to you becoming a toxic individual.
Practicing gratitude has a myriad of benefits, such as happiness, better health and even more optimism.
A simple ‘thank you’ goes a long way at work and your subordinates will walk the extra mile for you.
Being able to convince people through logical, emotional, or cooperative appeals is a component of being an inspiring and effective leader.
The difference between influence and manipulation is that influence needs to be done authentically and transparently.
It also requires emotional intelligence and trust-building.
To be an effective leader, you don’t just command but you need to inspire, persuade, and encourage.
A good Leader is able to tap the knowledge and skills of the group and point individuals toward a common goal and draw out a commitment to achieve results.
A little respect goes a long way. One of the most important thing a leader can do is to treat people with respect.
It will ease tensions and conflict, create trust, and improve effectiveness amongst the team.
It is important for a leader to help establish and nurture respectful relationships among many different groups of diverse background and culture.
We are constantly faced uncertainty or tension around our differences.
A leader must learn to be open and listen to its people, as they feel respected when have been heard.
You do not have to agree or disagree with the person’s view but taking time to just listen to someone’s ideas or perspectives is respectful enough.
Just understanding and acknowledging as valid what others expect from you will make a difference.
Empathy has long been a soft skill and it is important now more than ever to find leaders who are more people-focused and must be able to work with people from diverse backgrounds and culture.
Empathy is perhaps one of the most important skills that a leader must possess as this is critical to be able lead the team through good and challenging times.
Empathy can be learned, and in addition to making you more effective, it will also improve work for you and those around you.
Courage is a key skill for good leaders as it can be hard to speak up at work, whether you want to voice a new idea or provide feedback to a direct report, or even to flag a concern for someone above you.
Rather than avoiding problems or allowing conflicts to fester, courage enables leaders to step up and move things in the right direction.
Hence a good coaching culture is an organisational culture of truth and courage.
Leaders with coaching skills can engage their people and each other with honesty.
Coaching culture is more powerful than strategy and more persistent than vision as this affects how we deal with each other.
It is this environment enables performance or subverts it.
That is why as more leaders experience the value of coaching, they recognise its importance.
Are you ready to be a leader and coach the members who have signed up under you on this journey to becoming a successful entrepreneur.
I started my journey on returning home from my overseas assignment. Leadership means different things to different people. When I was working overseas, my leadership role was different then as I have a team of over 200+ team members.
My leadership role now is to lead my business so that I no longer need to fulfil someone else’s dream but my own.
There are thousands of Affiliate Marketing programs out there on the internet and you need to do your research to see which path you want to follow.
I chose the Six Figures Mentors (SFM) because they are a digital education company who have been teaching people how to start their own online business from scratch and they have been doing this for over a decade.
They are focused and dedicated to help you on your journey but the success of your business does depend on you, your mindset and dedication.
I need to tell you that I did face challenges while learning a new skill. I questioned myself if I could do this, but with determination, I soldiered on and quashed my doubts on starting my own online business.
What I found that was where the biggest growth happens. This brings me to you…… I found a free video workshop series of shared ideas on how to break this cycle of just working and start living.
What I uncovered is a whole new life, right in front of us, we could not see it.
I started an online business from scratch with no experience, scary…YES – rewarding (worth it)..100%.
And now that is my hope for you, even if you watch the video series and if you are happy with where you are, amazing… you confirm that feeling, or you might uncover a passion to start a franchise or own a traditional biz, it really does not matter, as long as you are willing to do what most people are not.
You too can be your own leader and you can find out more about this whole new life by entering your name and email address, and I will send the video series which got me started, straight to your inbox or if you prefer to access the tutorials here
I have also included my personal email address here [email@example.com] and I want you to know that you can reach out to me with any questions you may have.
You need to figure out your why! and don’t let life pass you by.
